Like all Communities of the Walk to Emmaus, The Springfield Area Walk to Emmaus is a truly remarkable experience in God’s life changing love. We have a wonderful unpaid Board of Directors and servants who are caring, committed Christians willing to be vessels of God’s love in Jesus Christ. If you live in the Springfield, Ohio area, or are just planning an extended visit, we hope you would participate in this wonderful weekend. When you do, we believe you will encounter our God whose unconditional love will fill you with that something more with renewed spiritual power and purpose. We trust that God will inspire you to want to return His favor by making a difference in the world.

"When He was at the table with them, He (Jesus) took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him (Jesus), and He disappeared from their sight." (Luke 24: 30-31)
The Walk to Emmaus is based on the scripture of Luke 24:13-35, when Jesus, after His resurrection, joined two of His followers on their walk to Emmaus from Jerusalem. The intent of the three-day short-course in Christianity is to re-create the Walk for Believers and Church Leaders in order for them to find a closer, personal walk with the Lord, Jesus Christ. It's a 'once-in-a-lifetime-event', wherein a participant may experience the Holy Spirit and a "touch" of the love of Christ through expressions of individual love that are offered from the Emmaus Community in the name of Jesus Christ.
Springfield Area Emmaus held their first Walk to Emmaus in November 1990 (a Women's Walk). Since that time, five Walks to Emmaus of Men (2) and Women (3) have been held annually. Springfield Area Emmaus is a growing community of over
3,550 members.
